Christy Lang

With broad experience leading teams in designing and directing communication strategy for dynamic, global organizations, Christy has helped many companies — including Agilent, Cisco Systems, Consumers Union, Hess Corporation, Hewlett Packard, Safeway, Symantec and Xilinx — create effective communication programs that deliver results to the bottom line.

Christy is adept at crafting effective strategies to navigate mergers and acquisitions, changes in executive leadership, training requirements, employee team building and cultural transformations.

At Safeway, Christy led the ROI team that created a training program to inspire store managers to embrace the company’s strategic imperatives and to drive results store by store. At Consumers Union, Christy partnered with the executive and communication leadership to design a new internal communication function to support the expansion of the organization’s business and its growing influence in shaping public policy. At Cisco, she helped construct a 90-day integration plan for the company’s new Chief Technology Officer, including developing her charter and messaging platform. Christy also has extensive experience in the role of communication chief of staff for C-level executives.

Christy joined ROI from Cadence Design Systems, where she served as senior director for Employee Communications and Community Relations. During her tenure at Cadence, she designed and implemented a new corporate communication strategy, including a broader charter for internal communication; led CEO and executive internal communication; and managed internal communication for several key mergers and acquisitions. Christy also led an expansion of the Cadence community relations programs, overseeing a significant increase in charitable giving and volunteer public service.

Before Cadence, Christy led worldwide employee communication and community relations for Amdahl Corporation (now Fujitsu). She also served as a senior writer for then-president of Stanford University, Gerhard Casper. At Stanford, her responsibilities included the design and implementation of communication programs for alumni, students, parents and the local community.

Christy holds an M.A. from the University of Washington and a B.A. from Lewis and Clark College.
